  1. Special and/or sensitive personal data that we process 

It is not the intention of our website and/or service to collect information about website visitors younger than 16 years old, unless they have the permission of their parents or guardian. However, we cannot verify whether a visitor is older than 16. We would therefore advise parents to be involved in the online activities of their children in order to prevent the collection of details about children without parental consent. If you are 

convinced that we have collected personal data about a minor without consent, please contact us at jaco@courius.com and we will then remove this information.

personal data? 

COURIUS B.V. processes your personal data for the following purposes: 

  • The settlement of your payment. 
  • The sending of our newsletter. 
  • To be able to ring you or send you an email if this is necessary to carry out our services. 
  • COURIUS B.V. analyses your behaviour on the website in order to be able to improve the website and to tailor the range of products and services to your preferences. 
  • COURIUS B.V. also processes personal data if we are legally obliged to do so, such as data that we need for our tax return. 
  1. Automated decision-making 

COURIUS B.V. does not take decisions on the basis of automated processes about matters that may have (considerable) consequences for persons. This concerns decisions that are taken by computer programs or systems without the involvement of a human being (for example, an employee of COURIUS B.V.). 

  1. How long we keep personal data 

COURIUS B.V. does not keep your personal data as referred to in article 2 for longer than is strictly necessary to fulfil the purposes for which your data was collected. We work with the following retention periods: 

  • Commercial offers: 1 year, but removed directly after you have unsubscribed to the newsletter. 
  • Quotes/contracts: 7 years after termination of collaboration 
  • Bookkeeping: 10 years 
  • Tax authorities: 10 years 
  1. Sharing of personal data with third parties 

COURIUS B.V. will not sell your data to third parties and will only provide this if this is necessary for the performance of our agreement with you or to fulfil a legal obligation. We enter into a processor’s agreement with companies who process your data on our instructions, in order to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. COURIUS B.V. remains responsible for this processing. 

  1. Cookies, or similar techniques that we use 

COURIUS B.V. uses only technical and functional cookies. And analytical cookies that do not intrude on your privacy. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer, 

tablet or smartphone during your first visit to this website. The cookies we use are necessary for the technical functioning of the website and your ease of use. They ensure that the website works properly and remember, for example, your preferred settings. In this way, we can also optimize our website. You can turn off cookies by setting your internet browser in such a way that it no longer stores cookies. In addition, you can also delete all information that has been previously stored via your browser settings. 

  1. Inspecting, adapting or deleting data 

You are entitled to inspect, correct or delete your personal data. In addition, you have the right to withdraw your consent to the data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by COURIUS B.V. and you have the right to data portability. This means that you can submit a request to us to send the personal data that we have to you or to another organisation, specified by you, in a computer file. 

You can send a request to inspect, correct, delete, or to transfer your personal data or a request to withdraw your consent or an objection to the processing of your personal data to jaco@courius.com. 

In order to be sure that the request to inspect has been made by you, we will ask you to send a copy of your identification with the request. In this copy, please black out your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and the Burgerservicenummer (BSN) (citizen service number). This is to protect your privacy. We will respond as soon as possible, and in any case within four weeks, to your request.
